The Union Public Service Commission has completed the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026, with all nine descriptive papers conducted over two sessions — August 21–23 (Essay and General Studies Papers I–IV) and August 29–30, 2026 (Optional Subject and language papers). The exam followed the release of Mains admit cards on August 14, 2026, for the 13,343 candidates who cleared the Prelims (result declared June 15, 2026).
UPSC has not announced an official result date, but based on past cycles the Mains result is typically declared about two and a half months after the exam, putting a likely announcement in late October or early November 2026. Candidates who clear Mains will be called for the Personality Test (interview), whose schedule will follow the result.
